Jackies Fancy Dress hire shop on Cross Lane Radcliffe has undergone something of a transformation. Established since 1989, the shop was successfully run by Jackie Fraser and catered for all the usual party- goers’ fancy dress hire. Now in the hands of daughter Andrina, the shop offers more than 1,000 costumes for hire, a range of colour tinted contact lenses and an extensive range of accessories.
Since taking over in January 2009, Andrina has completely changed the look of the shop with extensive refurbishment work culminating in new changing rooms and an overall brighter, fresher, more modern feel. Andrina is now looking forward to a new illuminated sign at the front of the shop to complete the facelift.
Andrina explains why her service sets her apart from the competition, “At any one time we stock hundreds of costumes and always try our very best to find you the right costume for your night out. However, should we not have the costume you require in stock, we will do our best to try and obtain the costume as and whenever possible. In addition to the varied selection of costumes bought, we also stock a very large number of one-off costumes specifically made for us. Should you not which to hire a costume but would just like to accessorise your own costume, we also sell a large selection of male and female accessories including wigs, glasses, boas, and various items for cowboys & indians, gangsters, 20’s flappers, pirates and lots more.
Andrina understands her customers, “Picking the right fancy dress costume can be tricky”, says Andrina. “That is why I am always on hand to help you choose a costume and offer advice on the best accessories. After all, it's important that those finishing touches enhance your party outfit! When choosing a costume, most of the accessories are included within the cost of the hire – that’s why it is often less expensive to hire a costume from us than to buy from elsewhere. When buying a costume the cost of the accessories soon add up and make it expensive”.
Jackie's Fancy Dress stocks a wide range of both adult and children's fancy dress outfits, plus costumes suitable for couples including Beauty & the Beast; Jack & Jill; and Shrek & Fiona.
New costumes recently added to the extensive collection include Cheryl Cole (Fight for this Love), the Stig, Adam Ant, Sergeant Pepper, Pinhead costume and the Pig costume from the film ‘Saw’. Many, many more are available – please ask!
